Dear devotees,
A big hug from Germany.
Back to God, back home ... That was the message of Srila Prabhupada and very clear. He said: "If we follow strictly the instructions of the spiritual master with all your heart, then we will be enabled to see Krsna face to face, even in this life."
That's the promise of a pure devotee ... and he came to give us this hope to use this form of human life to achieve the true goal, what is that goal? How can we achieve it? There is no price for doing so if you have to pay with your own life to reach the lotus feet of Krsna you have to. There is no price to reach the most elevated, to Goloka Vrindavan. Actually the price is very high, and if you must pay with your own life, that means giving your life to Krsna ... because if you don’t give your life to Krsna, how can you obtain the mercy of Krsna?
He is the origin of life and the goal of life. He is all; he gives life or takes it away. So if we really want to approach Sri Krsna, then we cannot give less than our own lives, that's Saranagati. Your life is wonderful, because Krsna was wonderful, but if you give your life to Krishna then it becomes really wonderful. For giving your life to Krsna, he will immediately accept you. And what is the difference between doing devotional service and being with Krsna?
Well, all those who are doing actual devotional service are completely with Krsna. They are serving the Godhead, the Holy Name, the Holy Dham, and Vaishnava Saints ... There is no difference, who is serving them is actually serving Krsna. So if you really want to go back to Krsna ... if that is your real goal ... Are you going to keep spending your time on materialistic activities? Will you continue to use your time for material things? There is nothing that we receive from this material world. For as much material things you get, you will lose one way or another. So better if you can find something for Krsna and that something is good and you can dedicate yourself to this, then you're on the right track. For example:
In the material world people are fighting for properties: among them they argue for mere inches of earth and to whom they belong. And despite everything, they still think they own it and they can get more things in the world of matter.
In Krsna consciousness we have a different view, because we think that the whole earth belongs to Krsna and then use it for Krsna. But in the material world they do not understand that and so they only fight for one more piece of Earth. But the devotees are beautifully utilizing and caring for all that belongs to Him. Things become harmonious when we think that everything belongs to Krsna. Everyone wants to make their ownership of things ... but they forget that the Supreme Owner is the ultimate owner of all. And anyone who asks for something in the name of Krsna, but uses it for himself, is making a very sinful act. That is the secret of success in spiritual life: remember that everything belongs to Krsna, even our own body belongs to Krsna. That is the most difficult to understand ... for I do not want to convince myself that my body belongs to Krsna; my body belongs to me. I am in charge of this body and I can do with it what I want. But the advanced devotees do not think that way, they think: my body belongs to Krsna completely and why do they think like this?
ishvarah sarva-bhutanam
hrd-dese ’rjuna tishthati
bhramayan sarva-bhutani
yantrarudhani mayaya
"The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone’s heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy."
And who has provided us with that machine and the material which makes the body?
The Lord Himself. He is giving the soul a chance to be in this body. Krsna is all and is giving us all, He is giving us air to breathe, water to cool, and everything is His grace. That is the wisdom we apply in our lives. And Prabhupada was very gracious to teach that everything belongs to Krishna.
This wisdom will free us of all that nonsense. And see, that everything belongs to Krsna means we do not have to buy anything :). In our Mission, for example, we have so many beautiful farms, and I do not know how we have found them ... and once you become a devotee and work for Krsna, you becomes part of His family. And all that belongs to the Father is of the Son also.
So, Krsna is giving us great mercy. We preach His glory; we eat the prasadam, all that belongs to Him. Then the devotees are apparently poor, but have more farms than Bill Gates ... :) Why,
because they serve the Supreme Owner. And more importantly about our farms, is that there one can find the Vaishnavas and their association where one can serve Krsna with all happiness. One can find properties anywhere, but cannot find a Sadhu so easily. That is why we are trying to protect the farms around the world so that people can meet Sadhus and serve Krishna with them.
With these words I want to finish the message today, and remind you that we should make all our temples a haven where people can find Krsna by sadhana and friendship with the Sadhus, and to all those living in the temples you must have an excellent sadhana and encourage and invite others to participate in this beautiful experience. This is so you can have the opportunity to serve Krsna in the best way.
